Karaoke
is the Japanese word for a Sing-Along literally
meaning "Empty
Orchestra", (kara, "empty" and
okesutora, "orchestra").
Karaoke can
be interpreted as "virtual orchestra" because
you can specify a key to the music and start
singing along without the presence of a live
band or orchestra. - For more history of karaoke

Karaoke
music is produced on discs that store the music
and the accompanying words in a special format
that allows public performance under MCPS &
PRS licence.
|
|
In
Karaoke the music and backing vocals are played
over the sound system, while you sing the lead
vocal.
Don’t Panic if you don't know the
words!
It's no problem.

Karaoke
systems display the lyrics, scrolling
across a TV screen and change colour as the
words need to be sung. It is that easy. If you
want some help with backing vocals we are happy
to help were we can.

Karaoke
is about having fun and enjoying yourself. How
you sing doesn't matter, some will sing for a
laugh, others will try to reproduce the original
perfectly, and some will interpret it their own
way. There is no right or wrong way, just your
way.
Have fun, respect yourself, other singers and the
karaoke equipment; enjoy Karaoke, hope to see you
soon.
